Last Tuesday was a perfect day to be around downtown Chicago and visit the AIGA Small Talk event at the Shedd Aquarium. The event displayed how the in-house creatives on their Planning & Design department work together consistently to provide the better visual design and experience for the visitors.
From the copywriter to the exhibit designer, we had a chance to discuss their challenges and solutions for each promotion media and application. There’s no better way to learn more about any difficulties and results in design project than ask the questions directly from them.
Not only that we learn more about the creative team behind Shedd Aquarium, we also got a complimentary visit to their latest and most visited exhibit: The Jellies. The exhibit room is very well designed. Guided by the Graphic Designer herself, she explains how the area starts with the cool colors and flows to the warm colors in the middle to the end of the exhibit room. Additionally, what makes the room more interesting is that they put a giant Tiger Jellyfish sculpture and small group of jellyfish made of plastic cans. The exhibit room made it possible to bring a different vision to see the jellies. A very well done exhibit.
