Stitch Fix vs. Le Tote Fashion Subscription

Why I chose Le Tote over Stitch Fix for My Fashion Subscription

Ever since in high school, I’ve started to read many different fashion magazine. From national girl magazine in Indonesia called Gadis to the hip US one Nylon. By browsing through them in my early days, I’ve developed some sense of fashion for myself and I became aware of wardrobe pieces that I want to wear.

Today, with so many subscription available for almost anything, I decided to try one for fashion. So I went with what most of my friends has, Stitch Fix but after a couple of Fixes (that’s how they call each subscription package they send you), I decided to move over to Le Tote. So how was my experience with both of them you ask? Keep on reading …

Stitch Fix

With Stitch Fix, the experience is pretty good. On each Fixes, I receive a personal note from my stylist and few styling suggestion that I can choose using some of the wardrobe on my Fixes. I was pregnant at the time and decided to try their Maternity option. Some of the items that the stylist sent were actually really nice, HOWEVER I was a bit disappointed that they weren’t really resonate with my style. Now, please note that I am very picky with my fashion items, therefore it might be hard for anyone to style me or get a sense on what I feel like wearing on a certain day or occasion.

On most Fixes I usually only pick 1 item or no item at all to keep. Not only because the style doesn’t really resonate with me but the price tag is pretty high in my opinion, specially when I know exactly where to find a better wardrobe collection of my choice with that price range.

OVERALL:

I would suggest Stitch Fix to anyone who always have trouble picking clothes to wear themselves or would rather have someone styling clothes for them.

FEE: $20/Fixes every 2-3 weeks, every month, or every other month. The fee is used for the styling fee, but will also be used for your credit toward any item you purchase with your Fixes.

Le Tote

I found out about Le Tote when I was scrolling through my facebook feed. At first I wasn’t clear on the concept of Le Tote subscription until I get my first Tote (that’s how they call each subscription package they send you) AND after reading their FAQ on how Le Tote works, I finally understand that you pretty much rent the items that are in your Tote and you could wear them and return them when you’re ready and get another Tote send again. You can also buy any item that you like from the Tote if you wish.

One thing that really stand out for me from Le Tote is that it’s really simple, since I already know the kind of fashion style that I want, I can pick some clothing that I like and favorite them so I can receive them on my next Tote AND I can pretty much wear something new without really adding it to my already packed closet! They also make it easy to receive your Tote from the moment they prepare the items for you, you will get an email notifying that your Tote is ready for review. So you can either change the items or even change the size of any clothing they prepared for you. I also found it really easy to return my Tote when I’m done with it by dropping it to nearest USPS dropoff, although you can do the same thing with Stitch Fix when you want to return your Fixes too.

The other thing that I found really easy as well is on how you checkout the items. With Stitch Fix you will need to go to their website to checkout any items you want to keep, but with Le Tote you simply keep it and not include it on your return bag, they will take care of the checkout for you. So as of now, I still have my Le Tote subscription and I’m still happy with it.

OVERALL:

I would suggest Le Tote to anyone who already know they fashion style and know exactly wardrobe pieces they want to try and wear.

FEE: $49/Month with unlimited Totes, read on their FAQ page for more details.

GET $25 TO TRY LE TOTE, yup if you follow this link, you can get $25 off your first month with Le Tote.

There you have it. So which one do you like better? Or are you still debating on which one you should try? I’d say try either one first and move on to the other if the first choice doesn’t work for you. Happy styling and you know that you will look gorgeous no matter which subscription you chose or even if you chose neither ;)
