Really Cool PR & Branding Idea: Prescription Bottle

These days it’s hard to stand out amongst the business crowd, so you really do have to get creative to grab peoples attention. The other day we were at a local multi-chamber of commerce business event called the Chocolate & Champagne event where we got to see some interesting things. One of which caught out creative eyes and get’s the award for most creative use of PR material for a local business.

This business, well at least we think it’s local … not sure, did something far above and beyond that we knew we had to share this idea. Instead of putting a cheapo flyer or coupon into the goodie gift bags to hand out to people, they had this.

Yup, they had a fake (branded) prescription bottle! It’ll cure your “Computer Headaches” it claims! They also provide free refills, but only by appointment! Smart and very classy.

So what did they offer refills of? The sweetest drug of course:

M&M’s of course.

We thought this was particularly well done. The bottle has a lot of catchy and good information on it already, though the ‘pills’ were icing on the cake! The pills each have one of four unique graphics. The M&M logo, a u-turn type logo (no idea what that is supposed to be though), their phone number and their name.

Pretty flashy and win our award for most creative PR/branding idea for a local business for this big event.

What creative PR and marketing tactics have you seen used or have used yourself?
